Coaching Takes Many Forms

by Mark on August 26, 2010

When I started this blog, my goal was to help people find a way to share their passion, business or cause. I found there was no way that I could absorb all of the information necessary to become an expert. So I decided to not try to be an expert but just stay on top of what’s working for other people.

I have found what works best for me is to research and find what’s working for other bloggers. Now blogging is not the only way to share your passion, business or cause. You can use social media like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and other social sites. But if you can master writing for your blog, it will improve everything you do in social media. So, that’s why I’m focusing this post on blogging.

One of the blogs that I follow is Copyblogger. They have great resources and draw from their vast experience and relationships with other bloggers. A recent post caught my attention. It was titled Social Media Marketing Insight from 21 Smart People (And Me, Too). It’s a very simple article that list titles and authors of various books that they recommend to bloggers. One of the names that stood out immediately was Gary Vaynerchuck because I recently finished reading his book Crush It.

The new book that Gary has written is called How to Create a Mega – Following with Social Media. Gary Vaynerchuck is known for his video blogging about wines. Over the years, he has developed his expertise about wines partly because of his desire to share his passion with others. The last time I checked Gary Vaynerchuck had 850,000 followers on Twitter. Now that’s quite a statement about his ability to attract a large following.

I have learned from these successful bloggers that expert information should not be hoarded but shared and shared freely. As a result, your readers will see that you have no other agenda other than sharing your passion.

So I guess I’m off to the bookstore to check out some of these recommended books from Copyblogger.

Live life to the fullest and share your passion,

Mark A. Sinclair
